Because up here, on one of the most beautiful pass roads, it would be a real shame if the family-run guesthouse were not a MoHo hotel and the host had no interest in motorbikes. Your only neighbour here is the wildly romantic natural surroundings of the Upper Tauern National Park and the three-thousand metre peaks.
On your motorbike holiday at the Bärenwirt in the Glockner region you‘ll find the most beautiful tours right on the doorstep. Narrow mountain roads, sharp bends, high passes. Your motorbike holiday in the Salzburg region takes you round the Großglockner, into the Lienz Dolomites, to the wonderful Weissensee in Carinthia and as far as South Carinthia. And – maybe with a personal tour guide – directly into the heart of the Alps. From the Bärenwirt, you can travel along four of the most beautiful pass & mountain roads (Großglockner, high alpine road, Gerlos & Nockalm) and through two national parks to Europe’s highest waterfall. What an amazing tour!
Adventurers who have travelled from far and wide on their bikes meet up on the sun terrace or in the cosy “Zirbenstube” – to share ideas and enjoy the traditional Pinzgau specialities. Or simply to have fun.

Motorradkompetenz ist im Bärenwirt Chefsache – besser gesagt Seniorchef-Sache. Seit meiner frühen Jugend interessiere ich mich für Motorräder. Mit 18 Jahren habe ich den Führerschein gemacht und bin seitdem – also seit nunmehr 46 Jahren – leidenschaftlicher Motorradfahrer. Aktuell bin ich mit meiner Kawasaki Z 1000 Baujahr 1974 und auch mit meiner Suzuki Bimota SB 6 unterwegs. Und zwar am liebsten rund um den Großglockner: Hier wartet eine abwechslungsreiche Fahrt, die sowohl über gut ausgebaute Pässe als auch durch stille Täler führt – das Mölltal, der Iselsberg, die Kalser Glocknerstraße, die Felbertauernstraße, das Virgen-, das Stubach- und das Kapruner Tal sowie der Zeller See sind Höhepunkte dieser grandiosen Fahrt rund um den Großglockner. Ein ganz besonderer Geheimtipp für unsere Gäste ist jedoch die Sonnenaufgangstour auf die Edelweißspitze – ein unglaubliches Erlebnis!
Meine ganz große Leidenschaft ist aber das Schrauben und Restaurieren von Motorrädern. Somit bin ich meistens in unserer Werkstatt anzutreffen und helfe immer gerne bei Problemen – aber auch bei Fragen oder Tour-Planungen – weiter.
