The Zillertal valley is THE place for a motorbike holiday in the Eastern Alps. Starting right on the doorstep, there are sensational mountain roads to explore, and there are diverse highlights in the vicinity and further away. Half a day is enough for the Zillertal High Alpine Road, the Gerlos Alpine Road or one of the reservoirs in the valley. Full-day tours can extend to the Grossglockner or the Dolomites and lead across five, six, seven or even more Alpine passes.

Your Host Somehow, life just isn’t complete without a motorcycle.
Time and time again - and in recent years, more frequently - motorcyclists make a stop at Hotel "DER PINZGER" in Stumm.
I'm an avid motorcyclist myself, so it was a natural decision to cater to this type of guest after I took over the operation of the hotel. Of course, it all started with a moped: before my sixteenth birthday, I rode in gardens and fields, and later, I rode a good old Puch on public roads. After getting my "full" motorcycle license, my two-wheeled passion took a bit of a break. Tourism school and my studies left little time for motorcycling between working at the hotel and doing internships abroad in the summer.
But a passion like that can't stay dormant forever, and it reemerged in 1998 in the form of a KTM 640 LC4. I converted it into a supermoto a year later. Two friends in our group had to give up riding due to accidents, which eventually led me to decide to sell the KTM. But once again, that goodbye wasn’t final. I got back into it in 2004, with a Yamaha XT 660 R, a used bike - just something to ride. It soon became clear that the XT wasn’t a permanent solution, so I traded it in a year later for a Suzuki GSR 600. This bike got me hooked: from then on, my motto was "naked and heavy." Since the GSR was naked but not necessarily heavy, I needed a replacement.
I found it in the form of a Triumph Speed Triple 1050, a motorcycle that had fascinated me since its first version in the early '90s. Back then, as I waited eagerly to finally be able to get my "real" license, the Speed Triple was the bike of my dreams. It brought me great joy for three seasons, and I parted ways with it in the summer of 2009. I’ll be starting the next season with a Suzuki Bandit 1250 - a compromise bike. Since my wife now has her own license for single-track riding, but doesn't want her own bike, it had to be something "gentler."
One other big dream remains unfulfilled: a Norton Commando 850 Mk3, ideally a 1976 model (my own birth year), to satisfy my love for classic bikes. But my passion for two wheels isn’t limited to motorized versions; you can also often find me mountain biking in the mountains and forests of our region. As a certified mountain hiking guide, I’m also happy to show our guests the nearby peaks on foot. Most of all, though, I look forward to conquering the curves of the surrounding Alpine passes with our guests on the motorcycle. I'm always available for tour tips, too.
