Ride a motorbike: Großglockner - Hohe Tauern
It is the unique motorbike evergreen, the iconic pass road classic, the Austrian hit par excellence: the famous Grossglockner High Alpine Road. The starting point for Austria's monumental landmark, which connects the two federal states of Salzburg and Carinthia, is in Salzburg's Pinzgau region. From here, your motorbike holiday in the Großglockner - Hohe Tauern region takes you over 36 hairpin bends to Austria's highest view: at the Kaiser-Franz-Josef Höhe at 2,369 m above sea level with a view of the country's highest mountain, the 3,798 m high Großglockner. The next stop is on the Edelweissspitze - once again it's time to park your motorbike and keep an eye out for marmots!
Forces of nature & high alpine road construction
The next destination on your motorbike holiday in Salzburger Land is the spectacular Krimml Waterfalls in the Hohe Tauern National Park: the extraordinary drop of 380 m at the end of the valley is breathtaking! The Gerlos Alpine Road and the Nockalm Road can also be reached from here in no time at all. Also not to be missed on a motorbike holiday in Salzburger Land are the Kaprun high mountain reservoirs with the impressive Drossensperre dam at 2,100 m, the Mooserboden reservoir and the exciting "Strom & Eis" visitor centre. A detour to the vehicle museum in Kaprun and a coffee in Zell am See are also a must.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. So it comes as no surprise that Karin Vötter was born with a passion for motorbikes. After all, her father Helmut has collected around 200 vintage cars in his classic car museum. ‘That explains my love of motorised vehicles, no matter how many wheels they have. The main thing is that there's something to accelerate,’ says Karin with a laugh. There is simply a lot of horsepower in the VÖTTER DNA ...
