Your host, Heli, lives and breathes motorbikes and the mountains and will personally provide you with tour tips for rides that start right on the doorstep. Whether it’s the Großglockner, Gerlos or Lake Zell – this is where your Alpine road trip begins, right in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park.

Up here, in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park, motorcycling becomes an experience that blends the power of nature with design aesthetics. The Designer Motel glockna in Fusch is both a retreat and a starting point – for anyone who loves bends and values tranquillity just as much as an adrenaline rush. Minimalist design meets genuine hospitality, whilst the Alpine landscape blends with modern architecture.
After a day on the Großglockner Road or the surrounding panoramic routes, pure relaxation awaits: an infinity pool, saunas, an infrared cabin and peaceful retreats help restore your balance. Add to that authentic cuisine, regional produce and a host who’s got petrol running through his veins. Motorcycle expertise
Heli got his driving licence in the traditional way at 16 – but his fascination with motorbikes had been there since he was a child. “I’ve actually been riding motorbikes for as long as I can remember,” says Heli Wimreiter, speaking of his great love for two-wheelers, which seems to have been in his blood from birth. No wonder, when you grow up right next to the Großglockner High Alpine Road. He’s currently riding a BMW R 1100 – preferably alongside like-minded riders on the Großglockner High Alpine Road, which starts right on his doorstep.

Helmut “Heli” Wimreiter has been riding motorbikes for as long as he can remember. No wonder, when you grow up right next to the Großglockner High Alpine Road. “I’ve simply always been fascinated by anything that drives and has an engine,” laughs the Glockna host, known to everyone simply as Heli. “Whether it’s our trucks at Event Cars or anything that travels on two or four wheels – this enthusiasm for technology and movement has always been there.”
Heli’s currently riding a BMW R 1100 – “That’s what freedom feels like!” His absolute favourite ride is the Großglockner High Alpine Road: “The ride starts right on your doorstep: you hop on, set off and are immediately right in the thick of this unique experience.” It’s precisely this combination of perfect roads and the scenery surrounding the Hohe Tauern National Park that makes the region so special to him. “You’ve got the mountains right in front of you and every bend is simply a joy. For me, it’s the most beautiful region to be out and about in,” enthuses Heli. Regular guests particularly appreciate the authenticity of the Designer Motel – genuine and uncomplicated. “We have a modern, laid-back style, but we keep our feet firmly on the ground. When you come home after a ride, you sit down together, relax in the spa area or enjoy our down-to-earth yet modern cuisine at the glockna restaurant. Here, it’s simply about being together as equals.”

Once the bike is stationary, the body is revved up. In addition to motorbike expertise, the pampering programme for body, mind, soul and, last but not least, the palate is a top priority. Whilst "she" enjoys a wellness treatment and relaxes in the sauna and bath, "he" goes on tour with the MoHo host - or vice versa. In the evening, both palates are spoilt equally with specialities from local cuisine.
