Austria combines high-altitude Alpine roads, lakeside routes and lower-lying regions perfect for leisurely rides. In Italy, the Dolomite passes meet the lakes of Trentino and the diversity of Friuli near the border.
France, with its French Alps, is synonymous with extensive high-altitude mountain tours and famous Alpine passes. Around the Maurienne and Tarentaise regions, the Col de la Madeleine links two striking Alpine valleys; the Galibier, Iseran and Croix de Fer further expand the range of passes. Slovenia packs Alpine and Mediterranean landscapes into a compact geographical area, for example around Vršič, Mangart and towards the Adriatic.
