At the foot of the Dachstein Tour 1

The journey to the Dachstein

We start our tour with lots of bends to Bischofshofen. From there we continue through the

Fritztal and along the Filzmooser Landstraße to Filzmoos. Immediately after the village we cross the

Styria and continue along the Dachstein massif to the Dachsteinstraße.

Dachsteinstraße.

The Dachstein road

A 6 km long toll mountain road which takes us along bends and hairpin bends to the valley station of the Dachstein

glacier railway. This is located at an altitude of 1700 metres. You can take a break and enjoy the

panorama of the Dachstein or take the glacier railway to the Dachstein glacier at an altitude of

approx. 3,000 metres above sea level.

Back via Forstau

Back at the bottom, the journey takes us via Ramsau am Dachstein and Schladming to

Gleiming, where we turn off onto the Forstauer Landstraße. On a quiet and winding road we cycle to Forstau

Forstau and from there via Radstadt, Altenmarkt, Wagrain, St. Johann im Pongau to Bischofshofen.

Bischofshofen. In Bischofshofen we reach the Hochkönigstraße again and ride back to the bike & bike centre with a

winding finale back to the Bike & Snow Gasthof Lederer.
