Sportgastein and Arthurhaus round

Route:

Bike & Snow Gasthof Mühlbach am Hochkönig - Dientner Sattel (1,370 m) - Lend - Sportgastein (1,584 m)

- Angertal (1175 m) - Schwarzach im Pg. - St. Johann im Pg. - Bischofshofen - Mühlbach am Hochkönig

- Arthurhaus (1,505 m) - Bike & Snow Gasthof Lederer

Dientner Sattel and Dientner Landstraße

Right at the start, the route takes us steeply up to the Dientner Sattel via our local road. The ride takes us

past the Hochkönig massif to Dienten, where we turn off onto the Dientner Landstraße.

road. A very beautiful motorbike route takes us through a narrow valley until we reach the Salzach Valley.

The Gastein Valley

Now we ride a short distance along the Salzach Valley road until we turn off into the Gastein Valley. Our tour

leads us right into the valley past the villages of Dorfgastein, Bad Hofgastein, Bad Gastein to Böckstein.

Böckstein. This is where the Gastein Alpine Road begins, which takes us to Sportgastein. During the

drive on the alpine road you cross a few very dark tunnels. Sportgastein with the Naßfeld is a

a beautiful valley head in the Hohe Tauern National Park.

From Sportgastein we return to Hofgastein. There we make another short detour

over the Angertalstraße into the Angertal. From the Angertal, we ride back out of the valley into the Salzach Valley.

Mandelwandtstraße and Arthurhaus

We cycle along the Salzachtalstraße to Bischofshofen and from there with lots of bends to Mühlbach am Hochkönig.

to Mühlbach am Hochkönig. In Mühlbach we then turn off onto the Mandelwandtstraße and ride up to the Arthurhaus

to the Arthurhaus at 1,505 metres. A marvellous mountain backdrop awaits us.

From the Arthurhaus we return to the valley and continue to the Bike & Snow Gasthof Lederer.
