Host and manager Cristian Ludwig has himself been a passionate motorcyclist since childhood and is specialised in gentle pleasure tours through the South Tyrolean lowlands. Scenic contrasts are on the biking programme every day in the Fiemme Mountains, in Italian “Val di Fiemme”: your motorbike tours will take you through South Tyrol and to Trentino, via Dolomite passes and through gentle valleys, on the second-highest mountain pass of the Alps in Vinschgau, the Stilfserjoch and through the blossoming apple plantations in the valley, from the Fiemme Valley to a detour to beautiful Lake Garda. The mild, Mediterranean climate makes the region around Lake Kaltern a top biking destination with possibilities in all directions.

Since he was 14 years old, Ludwigshof host Cristian Ludwig has been riding motorcycles. His gasoline-fueled "storm and stress" years were spent on various bikes. When he met his future wife, his passion for two wheels faded for a few years, and he finally retired his Triumph Bonneville in 2011. But, as they say, an old love never dies! To stay in practice and cruise through the Dolomites now and then, he replaced his old Brit with a BMW R 1200 C.
A few years ago, Cristian’s passion for biking was reignited. For the sake of riding enjoyment, the BMW was replaced by a newer Yamaha Tracer 700. Since then, the dedicated MoHo host has been spotted regularly in his own touring region and occasionally with his guests, if the timing works out.
Cristian prefers to leave the lead to his excellent tour guide Alessandro, who, as a fanatical year-round rider and professional, knows a great deal about it. We have never met anyone who knows as many roads and route combinations in South Tyrol and Trentino by heart. Once a week, Alessandro takes Ludwigshof guests on a complimentary, exclusive tour. More tours are available on request.
In the evening, Cristian returns as the master behind the (beer) tap during the hotel’s "gasoline talks." In a relaxed atmosphere, riders exchange experiences from their tours and plan the routes for the next days. For Cristian and his guide, it’s a point of pride to tailor a tour just for you: breathtaking secret routes and highlights known only to insiders on every path.
