FAQ on motorbike hotels with motorbike hire

Do I need to book the hire motorbike before I go on holiday?

Yes, if possible, book your hire motorbike directly with your chosen hotel before you arrive. Whilst the MoHo overview shows suitable hotels, it does not display which motorbikes are currently available. The model, hire period and collection arrangements depend on the hotel or its hire partner. It’s a good idea to make an enquiry well in advance, particularly at weekends and during popular travel periods.

What motorbikes can I hire from MoHo Hotels?

There is no standardised MoHo hire fleet. The brands, power classes and models available depend on the individual hotel or hire partner. No specific motorbike models are shown on the overview page. You should therefore check before booking which bike suits your height, riding style, driving licence and planned tours.

Ask specifically about seat height, weight, luggage system and whether the bike is suitable for a passenger. A travel enduro model may be better suited to longer mountain tours than a heavy tourer or a sporty naked bike.

What sort of driving licence do I need to hire a motorbike?

You’ll need a valid motorbike licence that corresponds to the power class of the hire bike, as well as the identification documents required by the hire company. For an A2 motorbike, for example, the maximum power is 35 kW; Class A covers motorbikes without this power restriction. Minimum age and driving experience may also be required.

EU driving licence categories such as A1, A2 and A are generally recognised across EU Member States. Before making a booking, you should inform the rental company of your licence category and the country of issue.

Is motorbike hire included in the hotel price?

Motorbike hire is not included in the hotel price quoted. You should therefore enquire about the daily or multi-day rate, insurance, excess, deposit, free mileage and any potential costs for accessories, cleaning or additional mileage.

Can I hire a helmet and motorbike clothing as well?

Whether helmets, jackets, gloves, cases or sat-navs can also be hired varies depending on the hire partner. Your own protective clothing usually offers a more comfortable fit. If you need to hire equipment, you should specify your body size and helmet size when making your booking.
