Motorbike holiday in the region East Styria & Southern Burgenland Motorbiking in the border region East Styria & Southern Burgenland
Two federal states in front of the handlebars
Like many border regions, the area between Eastern Styria and Southern Burgenland can look back on an eventful history. And so you can still follow the traces of the former Iron Curtain on the border between Austria, Hungary and Slovenia on a motorbike holiday in the border region of Eastern Styria-Southern Burgenland on the Iron Curtain Tour. The 3-country motorbike tour takes pleasure bikers along mountain roads and curves through southern Burgenland, eastern Styria and the Bucklige Welt in Lower Austria. The programme also includes scenic detours to the 1,000 hills of the Viennese Alps or to neighbouring Hungary, to which Burgenland once belonged. As I said: living history wherever you go!
On the trail of history
You can also embark on a historical exploration tour on the "Styrian Castle Road" through Hartbergerland, on which the most beautiful castles in Eastern Styria are strung together. After all, the region is one of the areas with the most castles and palaces in Europe. The route covers a total of 1,001 kilometres and 37 castles, fortresses, abbeys and historic fortifications - some romantic, some dramatic. We also experience the Semmering on a motorbike holiday in the border region of Eastern Styria and Southern Burgenland, as well as the Geschriebenstein - at 884 m the highest mountain in Burgenland.
