Dead ends can be so beautiful ...
The Eastern Alps are at your feet on a motorbike holiday in the Zillertal. Riding a motorbike here takes you up winding, uphill routes on dream Alpine passes - just as we expect from Tyrol! But many a rewarding route also leads to dead ends, which we also learn to love here. After all, the journey is the reward and with these wild and romantic natural beauties, we are happy to take the route twice: the "Gründe" Stilupgrund, Zillergrund, Zemmgrund and Tuxertal may be dead ends, but they are not overcrowded and the scenery is uniquely beautiful. Austria's gentlest pass road, the Gerlos Alpine Road, is of course also at the top of our bucket list for a motorbike holiday in the Zillertal: 69 km of riding pleasure between Tyrol and Salzburg, with the 12 km heart of the route from Krimml to the Pinzgauer Höhe.
Alpine passes & mountain inns
One of the undisputed perennial favourites is of course the Zillertaler Höhenstraße - which takes us on a motorbike holiday in the Zillertal over the Gerlos Pass to neighbouring Salzburger Land. Anyone travelling the Silvretta Höhenstraße should plan a detour to the Almgasthaus Zellberg Stüberl at 1,840 m above sea level - after all, the "world-famous" Zellberg Buam around Gerhard Spitaler not only spoil you here with Tyrolean delicacies, but also with musical folk music interludes. If you want to extend your day tour radius on a motorbike, head straight for the Grossglockner or the Dolomites from the Zillertal.
Motorbike accomodations in Zillertal Valley - Gerlos Alpine Road
A real Zilltertal Valley local must be called Kröll and can ride a motorbike. Well, this is what I say :-)) We have so many beautiful mountains and countless curves at our front door - enough to share them with our guests, which we love to do of course!
Whether the Erzberg mountain or the “Romanics“, my stomping ground is off road. My wife on the other hand is out and about on the road - alone and with our guests. So, it comes as no surprise that we met when motorcycling. A joy that‘s shared is a joy made double!
