Austria's gentlest pass road, the Gerlos Alpine Road, is of course at the top of our bucket list for a motorbike holiday in the Zillertal. 69 km of riding pleasure and 22 hairpin bends between Tyrol and Salzburg, with its 12 km long centrepiece from Krimml up to the Pinzgauer Höhe. Here you can enjoy the wow view of the Krimml waterfalls.
For those who like things more unspoilt, discover the dead-end roads in the Zillergrund or Tuxertal - between unspoilt nature and tranquil mountain lakes. Motorcycling in the Zillertal means pure Alpine diversity and so you can also head to the great classics from here: the Dolomites, Großglockner or the legendary Silvretta High Alpine Road. Because from the Zillertal, you can be travelling in all directions and on dream tours through Tyrol, Salzburg, South Tyrol and Bavaria in no time at all. If you're a real Zillertaler, your name is Kröll and you can ride a motorbike. At least that's what I say :) We have so many beautiful mountains and countless bends on our doorstep, enough to share with our guests. Which, of course, we love to do.
Whether it's the Erzberg or the "Romaniacs", my territory is "off road". Instead, my wife Melanie is "on the road", travelling alone and with guests. So it's no surprise that we both got to know each other while riding our motorbikes. A joy shared is a joy doubled.
