Why bikers feel so at home at "Laudersbach" ...

... because my love for two-wheeled vehicles started very early. Back then, I shared it only with my dog. Growing up in my homeland, on a beautiful mountain farm near Radstadt, the conditions for "free riding" through meadows and forests on our local mountain were ideal. At the age of 13, I was finally allowed to take over my father's moped, a KTM Komet 50. Every day after school, I would test its top speed on gravel roads and its off-road capability. I bored out the carburetor, filed down the piston for more displacement, removed the air filter, and optimized its weight by taking off everything that wasn’t strictly necessary. My "Kati" was tuned to the max and taken apart and reassembled about 50 times. And then, it happened as it had to happen - a seized piston and a crash into the woods ended my first partnership with a KTM. Then at 16, a KTM 250 Full Cross rekindled my passion. But our local hunters put an abrupt end to my motocross phase two years later, and I had to sell my beloved KTM.

After graduating from business school and starting my career at the ski company Atomic, I took a break from motorcycling for about three years. But my passion for biking didn’t let go, and one day, a Yamaha FZ750 stood outside my apartment door. This was followed by a Husqvarna 610, a Ducati Monster 900, and eventually a BMW Boxer. Somewhere between the Yamaha and the Husqvarna, I met my wife Nadja, daughter of the current family business owners. Transitioning from the ski industry to hospitality came with a few challenges.

Today, we look back on ten successful years since taking over the business and also on two healthy and happy children who have made our family grow. Ten years ago, we began to focus exclusively on motorcycling guests. We are very proud to be part of "MoHo" for several years now and do everything we can to make our guests feel comfortable.

Once or twice a week, usually on Tuesdays and/or Fridays, we go with them to the most beautiful spots in the surrounding area, often on "secret" routes that aren't in the official tour program. These routes take us to rustic alpine pastures and lakes, with an emphasis on "curves and enjoyment". Sometimes, you may need to prove your skills on short gravel sections or even go on foot for a few minutes. I also love accompanying the parade tours to Nockalm or Großglockner. Our hometown Altenmarkt lies in the heart of Austria and offers varied routes in every direction. The mix of mountains and lakes is what our guests appreciate and love.

We are also very proud of our diverse and renowned cuisine. After a great tour, an evening meal with a glass of good red wine is just part of the experience. Our long-standing staff in the restaurant will spoil you with delicacies from local and international cuisine. We promise! Recently, my wife has also become a certified nutrition coach, which allows us to cater to the specific needs of our health-conscious guests.
