In the paddock of the Drei Hacken motorbike hotel, it's straight from the breakfast table onto the saddle with regional tips, followed by a cosy pit stop at the traditional biker's regulars' table in the inn, volée to the evening garage beer and finally to the "GenussWirt” to enjoy. Shaped by my early motorbike dreams, I now live my passion for two wheels in the Waldviertel. Our location far away from the well-known, often overcrowded bike areas is often considered an insider tip.
Your host
I was influenced early on: in 1974, a Z750H2 arrived in the village - it was immediately clear to me that my life would take place on two wheels. My first vehicle was a PUCH Bergmeister bike, which I took to the LERU ring. The rallycross races there awakened my enthusiasm for motorsport and motorbikes once and for all. Fascinated by Ducati, Benelli and the new four-cylinder engines from Japan, I soon became a regular.
in 1979, I began my apprenticeship as a chef in the Melk Abbey restaurant, still with a view of the Ring. My motorcycle back then was a PUCH DS 50. In 1983, the time had come - my first Ducati, a 900 Darhma, arrived with my driving licence. Unfortunately, it only lasted two seasons, but the passion remained. Many bikes from Italy, Japan and Germany followed - and even a Volvo Amazon, with which I competed in rallies.
Today, I'm more interested in enjoyment than speed. A nice ride with friends, exciting events such as the Waldviertel Winter Historic and new discoveries on my doorstep - all of this is what makes motorcycling in the Waldviertel so fascinating for me.
