The fascination of the Nockberge National Park and the unique Nockalm Road has inspired every biker. You start from our hotel in the direction of Lake Millstatt. In Seeboden the road branches off at the 2nd roundabout in the direction of Treffling. A narrow road takes you through the rocky Lieser valley along the torrential Lieser towards Gmünd. The artists' town of Gmünd is the best-preserved small medieval town in Carinthia and is definitely worth a short visit. Numerous art dealers, exhibitions throughout the town centre and the Porsche car museum await you!
A detour takes you through the Maltatal valley and along the Maltatal High Alpine Road to the imposing Kölnbreinsperre dam - Austria's largest dam at 2,000 metres above sea level. From Gmünd, continue to Kremsbrücke, then turn right to Innerkrems. And this is where it all starts - on to one of the most beautiful mountain roads in Austria: THE NOCKALMSTRASSE!
34 kilometres of pure biking enjoyment and good refreshment stops in rustic inns and huts serving genuine Carinthian delicacies. The route continues to Bad Kleinkirchheim, Radenthein and Döbriach on Lake Millstätter See. After Döbriach, turn right and cycle over the Glanz with a fantastic view over Lake Millstätter See to Ferndorf.
Then head towards Stockenboi to the turquoise-blue shores of Lake Weissensee, the natural jewel of the year. After a short rest at the view of the Dolomites, the route continues towards Boden and Kreuzen, over the Windische Höhe and back to the Strasswirt.
